The Burning Land



The Burning Land series of painting is views the issue on diminishing forests in massive scale, resulted from damages of flora and fauna exponentially year after year. Artworks brought up the idea of greedy human attitude in their environmental damage by the cause of deforestation.  Formatted 152 x 152 centimeters, it combined the usage of enamel paint, acrylic paint, and charcoal for drawing on canvas. Brushstrokes were rendered in hard and swift motion, producing layers of colors by overlapping technique. A sense of expressiveness can be felt through the lines and the usage of enamel paint. Figuratively, image of insects, animals and burning plant were rendered in monotonous hue by image transfer to represent the loss of natural habitat.
